Welcome!

KBSL is an independent, not for profit, Volunteer run baseball and softball league.  We were founded in 1974 to give every kid in the Kentwood area an opportunity to play ball and build community.  At KBSL, we balance healthy competition and a lot of fun, and we welcome any kid who wants to play, regardless of their skill level.  So whether your player wants to learn the game for the first time, develop their skills or just get out and enjoy a summer at the ball park, we've got a spot for them!

Here are a few basics that every KBSL family will want to know...

Opening Day

Our favorite tradition!  We start the season with a parade along 52nd Street, followed by Opening Ceremonies and fun activities all day for Players and their Families.  All Teams will have pictures taken and most Teams will have a game scheduled that day.

Concession Stand

Our Concession Stand is located right next to Field 1 and offers all your ball park favorites, including popcorn, nachos, candy and hamburgers fresh off the grill!

We also offer satellite concession tables at Fields 6 & 7, and we're happy to deliver anything not stocked at the tables to your field!

Treat Tickets

A Player favorite! Treat Tickets can be purchased and redeemed at the concession stand or tables for $1 each.  Many Teams ask Parents to take a turn purchasing Treat Tickets for the Team, so Players can head to the Concession Stand after the game!

All Stars & Future All Stars

In Divisions A, B & C, Coaches select Players to represent their Team in the All Star Game (held on the last Saturday of the regular season.)

D & E Players are invited to join the All Stars for warm ups and introductions before the All Star Games!

Tournament

We end the season with a Tournament for A, B & C Divisions.  We do our best to complete the Tournament within a week, but depending on the number of Teams, it can last up to two weeks.  The general game schedule will be posted with the regular season schedule, but brackets and your Team's Tournament schedule are posted one week before the Tournament begins.

Trophies and Medals

In A, B & C Divisions, teams compete for Champion and Runner Up trophies during the regular season, and again in the Tournament.

In D & E Divisions, we do not keep score or track standings.  Al Players are awarded a medal at the end of the season!
